• The LWV of Loudoun County selected a Dominion High School student as the recipient of its 2010 Shining Star Award for excellence. The student's submission in the 14th Annual Loudoun County Public Schools Social Science Fair was recognized by the League for its detailed analysis of the impact of one person, Amelia Earhart, on society's restrictions on women. We congratulate our Shining Star winner! (Click here for pictures of the exhibit.)

• WANDA ALEXANDER of Horizon Consulting was named the LWV Loudoun County's Woman of the Year at our Women's History Month Tea. Ms. Alexander was cited for her mentoring of women in Loudoun County and the surrounding Metropolitan area; as a strong advocate of women-owned businesses and entrepreneurship; and for her continued philanthropic support of women's organizations and women- owned businesses.
